Please enjoy this video clip of Richard Louv, author of Last Child in the Woods, and founder of Children and Nature Network, with whom we will build a local project around agriculture.
See below for more information on our upcoming educational Farming Project/ CSA.
|
Our first goal is to develop a model farm including a Community Supported Agriculture program (CSA), along with an educational component. The project is designed to provide the following benefits:
· Hands on Educational programs serving both local community and other individuals in the tri-state area seeking to learn about traditional life experiences and nature
· Improved access to knowledge of how to create locally grown, healthy food for the general public, under-served neighborhoods and local food banks
· Training for Green Collar Jobs to revitalize local economies
· Local Farm to School programs, especially educational opportunities around Nature
· Environmental practices and land use that decrease carbon footprint
Similar initiatives are being instituted and supported in unprecedented numbers all over the country as citizens within communities turn increasingly toward fresh, locally produced food. We look forward to an opportunity to provide a more detailed presentation outlining the project, and should you require moer information please feel free to contact us.
