Organic Farming

Our long term goal is to begin to restore the variety and quality of foods that humans once enjoyed in this region.   For more information about that subject, follow this link - http://www.vimeo.com/1184619

The first steps at the Center for Natural and Traditional Knowledge will be to create a small organic farming program, both for food production for staff, and also for education.   Some of the aspects of that overarching program are:

               -   Plots for individuals/ Victory Gardens

-         Repatriation of Native crops / Seed Bank

-         Edible Landscape seedlings in greenhouse for fundraising

-         Efficiency Farming - Three Sisters – Corn Beans Squash

-         Forest Garden/ Mycorrhizal plots

-         Raised beds for Education

-         Biodynamic Plot with Pfeiffer Field Prep

-         Bulbs and Flowering Plants

-         Medicinal Plants/ Culinary Herbs

-         Taking Victory Gardens to community
